I started working in the ornamental horticulture industry back in junior high school. I worked at Rolling Hills and Airport Nurseries in Torrance while in high school. I was in Future Farmers of America and competed in the Ornamental Horticulture contests throughout California. I attended Humboldt State University majoring in Botany and minoring in politics. After graduation, I went to work for Armstrong Garden Centers at a number of their locations. I passed the California Certified Nursery Professional certificate and then completed two of the advanced statuses, Turf Management and Insects, Diseases and Weeds. I then worked for Boething Treeland Nursery, Color Spot America and Home Depot before landing at Stover Seed in 1993. I was the regional manager for Central and Northern California but also oversaw the Coachella Valley, Phoenix and Las Vegas markets for a term. I left Stover in 2016 to become Professional Products manager for S&S Seeds in Carpinteria and the subsidiary Pacific Coast Seed until June 2019.
I've always to form my own company that would be the " Go to" when working with specialty grasses, natives and wildflowers for golf courses and municipalities throughout California. I've worked with dozens of golf courses and municipalities over the years providing a wealth of knowledge to them and any prospective client.
I hope to work with many new faces and properties wishing to create a better experience for the user and the environment.
